• First of all, you must consider the time you will spend maintaining your pool.  We have calculated the amount of time the average pool owner spends on maintenance to be two hours per week. If you invest in an automatic cover that time drops to roughly twenty minutes a week. Additionally, high efficiency pump technology and water treatment technologies have immensely reduced cost and time invested in pool ownership.  Technology has “bought” us time but you still need to ask yourself, are you willing to invest the time and money to maintain the pool?  If you have the time and are willing to be diligent in the maintenance of your pool (be honest with yourself) then you should seriously consider the purchase of a pool.
• Next, if you have relatives, children, and close friends you would like to entertain, a pool is an incredible way to do that.
• If your retired and need to relax after a long day, a pool is for you.
• If you enjoy the outdoors and you are willing to landscape areas adjacent to the pool, your pool can be your “every night getaway” or “weekend getaway,” whichever you prefer.
• There are many health benefits of owning a pool. When excercise or playing in the pool your heart rate stays up and the water takes impact stress off of your body building physical endurance, muscle strength, and improving cardiovascular health.  Owning and using your own pool can help maintain a healthy weight, healthy heart, and healthy lungs, tone muscles, improve bone density, and improve overall strength. Owning a swimming pool also reduces mental stresses which is probably the most important factor when purchasing a pool.
